Back From Louisiana

I've been a traveling fool this month. I'm finally back and have no plans to go anywhere until next summer.... well... possibly spring break.

Yesterday, on the ride home, my kids and I listened to a book on tape. It was a children's story, Belle Prater's Boy by Ruth White, and it is a Newbery Honor book and well deserved. It made me laugh and struggle not to cry (I was driving). I thought of the writer afterward. She really delivered a good story and I can easily see that she must have put in some of her most favorite childhood stories and jokes. The main character loved to tell jokes and they WERE funny. And I must mention that the woman who read the story delivered the lines perfectly.
